After being a victim of gun-violence, I created a hyperlocal news site dedicated to spotlighting happenings in my home city of Emeryville, CA. In a relatively short period of time, I’ve grown it into the most highly trafficked news site in my city of 11,000 and made an impact on local policy. In 2015, I was awarded the “Best Neighborhood Blogger” by a local publication for my efforts.
